Amy Geils has been a licensed Physical Therapist since 1991.  Amy attended Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts where she was a member of the Women’s Volleyball team and graduated summa cum laude.

Upon graduation, Amy returned to her home state of New Jersey.  Her practice initially focused on outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine after which she became the Orthopedic and Bedside Supervisor at Hackensack University Medical Center; a 900-bed non-profit, research and teaching hospital.

In 1996, Amy relocated to Arizona where she resumed her focus in orthopedics, specializing in the post operative rehabilitation of total joint replacements.

In July 2010, Amy joined the staff at Barrow Brain and Spine (formerly Barrow’s Neurosurgical Associates).   Since that time, Amy has worked directly with Rick Little developing a manual therapy skill set and philosophy to treatment that now defines the outstanding level of care provided at Ascend Performance Institute.

Throughout her years of practice, Amy has completed over 49 advanced education courses in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral and Neural Mobilization, Myofascial Release, Joint Mobilization and Manipulation, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and Muscle Energy Techniques.  Amy has taught community education programs in workstation ergonomics as well as aquatic rehabilitation.

Amy joined Ascend Performance Institute in 2017 and is passionate about changing lives through quality healing interventions.  A teacher and administrator by nature, Amy is also looking forward to playing an integral part in the development of API’s mentorship program…..coming soon!
